Inlet Village Marina and Celestial Railroad

With archaeological finds dating back to the Late Archaic Period ( 3,000-750 B . C .), this area was also the original right-of-way for the historic Jupiter & Lake Worth Railway . Also known as the Celestial Railroad , this was once the southernmost railroad in the United States . The historical marker about the railroad is located on the south side of A1A .

Commemorating the many 17th century Spanish galleons and merchant ships that navigated the waters off Florida ’ s coast , this marker provides an insight into how the area became known as “ The Treasure Coast .” The marker is located in Jupiter Beach Park at the approach to the inlet jetty .
