Lectures:
he day back to class can often be super tricky! Do you dress up, or are sweats the way to go? I say; “NO lecture is the time SWEATS”! Your you get to present yourself to the rest of the classroom, so why not show some personality? My suggestion is to dress better than you would during exam time, but not like you’re walking down the runway. First day of class means, impressions; impressions with your profs, your TA’s, with potential group members, and even that cute guy or girl sitting next to you. You want to look good, but not like you are trying too hard: no one likes the sound of clicking heels in a classroom. As comfy as sweatpants may be, I strongly suggest saving them for late nights in the library. On a daily basis they give off the impression of laziness, and no one wants that person in their group. Presentation is everything in university! You never know who you are going to be meeting or what networking opportunity you may come across. Therefore, you should always look your best for the most unexpected situations! Suggestions for men include: Keep it simple! If it’s a warm day outside; a pair of colored shorts with a contrasting colored t-shirt or a simple white V-neck would be ideal. If it is a little chillier outside throw on a jeans with some cardigan and a pair of boathouse shoes. You will look clean and well put together.

Suggestions for ladies include: This season is all about the maxi, and they are perfect for the day of school. A cute maxi skirt paired with a casual tee or tank would look ideal for your day back! It is summer and casual without going over the top. If you aren’t top a maxi person, instead pair a cute with a pair of coloured paints or even some lace shorts. You will look chic and classy! Don’t forget to throw on a jean jacket for the colder days. Dressing for school should be easy, with just a few basics that feel comfortable but look great too! Sweats in lectures have the possibility to make you feel too comfortable which may cause you to fall asleep in class; trust me it has happened to me. Sure those 8:30am classes may tempt you to just slip into a pair and run out the door; instead try deciding what you are going to wear the night before. Be sure to keep it ready, and it will save you time and let you look fabulous as well. Lets all pack away those sweats, until those super cold winter days, when they are a must have!
