Executive Chef Daniel Chagolla is an Arizona Native. His desire to cook began at the young age of five in his family’s kitchen. A graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Chef Chagolla was on the culinary teams of many notable Scottsdale resorts before joining the team at Desert Highlands in 2007 where he pursues his life’s passion with energetic gusto.

Creativity, the ability to listen, a good attitude, and drive is what motives Chef Chagolla. Trends and member expectations guide us. Grab-and-go, farm-to-table concepts, local sourcing, seasonal organic and GMO-free natural products have become very popular with our members.

Dan is no stranger to creating fun events that include Chef’s Gone Wild, Burger of the Month and a successful take out business. But the one event that stands out is Wellness Wednesday’s which began three years ago. The initial idea was to feature a healthy item one day of the week for both members and staff. The Wellness Wednesday dinners have become one of the busiest nights at the club.

Many of the ingredients used are grown on property and the members appreciate Chef Chagolla’s passion

and the clubs unwavering commitment to their health & well-being. The quarter acre collaborative organic garden located near the club’s maintenance area doesn’t grow enough to replace U.S. Foods, but, in addition to the added menus items, it does provide another benefit. It stimulates conversation about food and health.

In addition to Wellness Wednesdays, each week Chef Chagolla offers a healthy special on the menu that uses ingredients grown in the garden, sources local proteins and uses minimal oils, fats, sugar and salt.
