Mike Curran —

Director OF Tennis, Fitness & Spa

Mike’s passion and philosophy is simple, encourage a 360-wellness style approach to the tennis athletes. Mike explains, “The obvious attribute of tennis is that it burns an immense number of calories and gets people active. But the underlying beauty of tennis is that is also harbors health/brain/social benefits that get lost in more traditional physical activities. I strive to educate our membership in part on the physical fitness component of tennis; i.e. cardiovascular, muscle development, technique, balance. In gaining these skills, my members have become less injury prone. Additionally, I urge our tennis members to keep exercise/movement/flexibility, in their daily routines with the support of hydration and a nutritious and beneficial diet.”

Mike Curran has won many awards

for his tennis skills and he has

helped countless others improve their game. But for the last two

years, Mike has been the acting

spa & wellness manager

and has been an active

contributor on a 22,000

square foot wellness

center which is currently

under construction.

Wellness Project Live View

When Lonnie Eberhard, General Manager of Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club asked Mike to assist with member approval, design, layout and equipment selection of the new facility, Mike Curran didn’t hesitate for a minute.

Mike jumped in with both feet and has been working with contractors, consultants, designers, equipment manufacturers and the Gulf Harbour management team to get the members to say yes to this massive undertaking.

Congratulations Mike for stepping out of your comfort zone and into the fire. Your Tennis and leadership skills are proving to serve you (no pun intended) well and we wish you the best of luck with the project.
