In 2007 Steve accepted the Chief Operating Officer and General Managers’ position at The Club at Ibis, which is the second largest private gated community and club in South Florida with over 1,800 residences, 54 holes of Nicklaus-family golf, a Sports Complex and four unique dining venues located on almost 2,000 acres of lush natural landscape.
Since Steve began his tenure at Ibis, the Club has been awarded and recognized as one of the Platinum Club’s of America, as a Distinguished Emerald Club (Elite Status) of the World, and one of America’s Healthiest Clubs.
Overall health and wellness has been at the forefront of the Ibis Membership for years; however, it was never formally organized into an all-encompassing program. With over 3,000 Members, the Club saw a visible desire from the Membership to live a healthy lifestyle from morning to night. I gathered my Executive Team and shared my vision to coordinate wellness efforts across all of the Club’s departments. From this meeting, we termed the BodyMind ConnectionTM (BMC).
Ibis already had in place, and adding in new programs such as Mindfulness Meditation, health lecture series and nutrition conscious menus, we were able to provide the Membership with a variety of health and wellness initiatives that offered whole body and lifestyle support.
Steve issued goals to the BMC leadership to create cross-department programs where Members could participate and utilize more than one area of the Club at a time.
From that task, for example, our amazing staff initiated a Walk with Pros golf experience. At this fun event, Members walked the golf course with both a Golf and Fitness professional, learning golf and exercise tips along the way. Additionally, we have developed a number of other opportunities for Members to engage in programs about mental health, aging, healthy cooking, physical activity and so much more.
As this program continues to thrive, Members suggest new topics to address, and we make
it happen. It’s wonderful seeing our Members living a full and healthy life here at Ibis.

Steve’s career before Ibis has included senior management positions with American Golf Corporation, Hyatt, Hilton, Ladbroke organizations and most recently, with Veritas Investment Company, LLC overseeing several of the company’s development properties including a 27-hole golf course club and community.
Steve served as the Seminole Regional Director for the Florida Chapter of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) since 2013, was nominated as Secretary and Treasurer in 2016, Vice President in 2017, and is currently the President of the Florida Chapter of the CMAA.
