In 2000, the undisputed champion of the Neumünster stallion approvals was the refined black son of Buddenbrock, King Arthur. King Arthur was bred by J. von Gierke in Langwedel.Fourteen years later, the now 16 year year old Grand Prix stallion was named the 2014 Trakehner Stallion of the Year in Neumünster. Owned and ridden by Petra Wilm, the president of the Trakehner Verband, King Arthur has been shown in international Grand Prix shows, with a high score in the classic Grand Prix of 67.278% and in the Kur of 68.7%. As a young horse, King Arthur also won the Danish stallion licensing in 2003 and did well in the young dressage horse classes. King Arthur was named as an Elite Stallion by the Trakehner Verband in 2008. As a sire, he has shown himself to be a strong producer of quality dressage type horses. He has sired several states premium mares and several licensed sons, including Sir Arthir, Kilimanscharo, Hidalgo, and Georgenberg. In the competition arena, King Arthur offspring have done well, with his most successful being the WEG Grand Prix horse Woltair, ridden by Diana Erpelding. King Arther represents classic Trakehner build, athletic ability, and versatility. His obvious connection with owner and rider, Petra Wilm, is both charming and inspiring to see. 5
