Pasco-Hernando State College Volume XX, Issue I - Spring 2026 | Seite 4

From the President

With gratitude,
Eric Hall, Ed. D. PHSC President
Dear Friends,
Spring is a time of renewal, growth and promise, and that spirit is reflected throughout this issue of Perspective and across our campuses. I am proud to share the many ways your support, partnership and belief in our mission shape the lives of our students and strengthen our community.
Our students continue to inspire us through their leadership and service. This spring, students in the Unmanned Vehicles Systems Operations( UVSO) program have organized a community Drone Safety Day, bringing together educators, industry partners and the public to promote safe and responsible drone use. This initiative reflects the hands-on learning, innovation and civic responsibility we strive to instill in every student.
This issue also highlights the significant economic impact our College has on the region. Beyond classrooms and credentials, PHSC is a vital engine for workforce development, innovation and local prosperity. From supporting local employers to preparing skilled graduates who choose to live and work in our communities, the impact and influence extend well beyond our campuses— and are made possible by the support of our state and local leaders and the collective investment of supporters like you.
Within these pages, you can also read about the exciting efforts of The Institute for Nursing and Allied Health Advancement, which includes expanded high-demand health care programs to address critical workforce needs in our region. These programs open even more pathways for students who are called to serve. This initiative will be further enhanced by the recent award of $ 270,000 in funds that were a dollar-for-dollar match through the Linking Industry to Nursing Education( LINE) Fund. This significant match of funds was made possible through the generous donations from Tampa General Hospital, AdventHealth and BayCare Morton Plant North Bay Hospital to the PHSC Foundation.
In addition to the efforts in health care programs, the College also works diligently to support veterans, military-connected students and their families. Recently, PHSC was officially designated a Florida Collegiate Purple Star Campus for the work of our Veterans Services Advisors in helping these students. This was followed by faculty and students in the Dental program volunteering their time at the annual Stars, Stripes and Smiles day, providing dental services to veterans.
To our donors, alumni and friends— thank you for your continued support that fuels opportunity and innovation. As we look ahead, I am confident that, together, we will develop even more innovative programs, open more doors for our students and build a stronger future for all.
