Men’ s Basketball: On The Rise

The men’ s basketball team is heating up at the perfect time. Riding a six-game winning streak, the Bobcats have shown steady growth throughout the season. They started the season off with a historic comeback against St. Petersburg College on December 1, winning 66-65 in the closing moments of the game. This marks the first time in 14 years that the Bobcats have won against a JUCO DI opponent.
Key contributors included Malcolm Warthen, averaging 12.5 points per game, Joseph Stosh with 211 points on the season and Kamar Plain, who has produced 21 assists at the time of writing. Assistant Coach, Dylan Burkhamer, credits the team’ s improvement to limiting turnovers and sharpening transition play, adjustments that have paid off as the season progresses.

Highlights Across the Field

Women’ s Soccer
Women’ s soccer closed the season in dominant fashion with a 7 – 0 victory over Florida College, finishing with a 5-6-4 overall record, the most wins in a single season in the program’ s history. Five players— Jacqueline Cuevas, Annalisse Vizza, Jacquelyn Downey, Kyra McClanahan and # 14 Claudia Montealegre Klarissa Zawoksy— earned women’ s soccer DII All-FCSAA team honors.

Giving Back: Bobcats Beyond the Game

PHSC student-athletes continue to make a meaningful difference in the community. The men’ s baseball team volunteered at Summer Lake Villas, restoring a community garden by pulling weeds and adding fresh soil. They also participated in the Pasco County Adopt-A-Road Program, helping maintain Moon Lake Road through roadside cleanup efforts.
Across all sports, Bobcat athletes contributed more than 150 volunteer hours, including helping a local family in need move into a new home. The men’ s basketball team additionally visited Sunray Elementary School in Holiday, Florida, hosting a fun and engaging basketball demonstration for students.
Women’ s Volleyball
Women’ s volleyball wrapped up the season seventh in the Sun-Lakes Conference with an 8-12 conference record and a 10-17 overall record. Despite missing the playoffs, standout players Kayden Barber and Sydney Freyer earned DII All-FCSAA Second Team All-Sun Lakes Conference recognition.
