What influenced your decision to attend PHSC ? When I was younger , I was introduced to PHSC via the Build-a-Buddy event when my uncle was attending in 2013 . PHSC has always been the college I ’ ve wanted to go to . I ’ ve lived in this town my whole life . It is affordable and has been a part of the community for a long time .
What are you studying ? I am currently working on completing my Associate in Arts degree and plan to continue my education to receive a bachelor ’ s in elementary education . I am almost halfway through my degree .
What is your fondest PHSC memory ? My fondest memories of PHSC are from our student events . As a student worker in the Student Life and Leadership department , I get to interact with my fellow students one-on-one . Doing so has opened my world to endless opportunities at the College , which I am immensely grateful for .
Is there someone at PHSC that you admire and why ? I am not sure if there is just one person I admire . There are so many people who have helped bring me to where I am today . I am grateful to Kayla Kuni and Joe Conte for introducing me to student work , SGA and Phi Theta Kappa . Kayla Kuni helped me feel confident in my own abilities , and Joe Conte has aided me in honing them . Together , they helped shape me into the leader I am today . A professor whom I greatly admire for her captivating lectures is Gina Rucavado . She finds a way to connect with all her students individually while still in a group setting . In her class , I felt inspired to read and analyze literature . I wish to grow and become as passionate about my area of study as she is .
What did receiving this PHSC Foundation scholarship mean to you ? I am very grateful for the PHSC Foundation scholarship . It has opened a world of opportunities that will help me reach my dream of becoming a teacher myself one day . It has helped me gather the necessary supplies and support needed for my tuition and to excel in my educational journey .
What does the future hold for you ? Thanks to the opportunities given to me from PHSC and the PHSC Foundation scholarship , I am currently going to start my term as Spring Hill Campus SGA Vice President . I hope to
