to receive most financial aid so , for me , receiving a Foundation scholarship means a lot . I enjoy being involved , grasping new concepts , trying new things , helping those around me and participating in clubs and events that grant me the opportunity to learn things that will help me in the future . This scholarship has given me relief , knowing I can continue doing the things I love without the stress of worrying about a loan or working extra hours to pay for college .
What does the future hold for you ? Over time I ’ ve learned I really enjoy leadership , being involved in the community and meeting new people . I find passion in spreading resources to ensure people have the opportunity to fully benefit from their experience . It was because of others sharing resources with me that I was able to get involved . I hope to continue making a positive impact while broadening my knowledge in real estate and business . The goal is to contribute to the areas I am passionate about — human rights , water and sanitation , the adoption system , human trafficking , domestic abuse , world hunger and equal opportunity to resources . My hope is to incorporate my passions into my career and continue finding new goals to reach .
Why do you think philanthropy matters ? Everyone is going through something , and there are individuals that are in a better financial position to help those who may not be able to support themselves . Philanthropy is not just supporting the suffering that ’ s caused by societal problems , but the goal is to reach the root issue that causes the societal problem . Support in any way helps , but philanthropy strives to reach the source of the issue .
Would you like to say anything to those who make scholarship opportunities happen for the students of PHSC ? Because of people like you , students are given the opportunity to continue their education without the financial burden that comes along with attending college .
