MEN ’ S BASEBALL WOMEN ’ S SOFTBALL
2022 Bobcat Basketball Team
The men ’ s basketball team put up a hard fight to win the NJCAA DII Region 8 Championship game on February 26 for the second consecutive year , but ultimately fell short . The Bobcats basketball season came to an end as Florida Gateway College defeated the Bobcats 84-67 in the championship game . Warren McLymont and Jakeese Kemp led all scorers with 19 and 17 point , respectfully . The team finished 15-14 overall on the season .

PHSC Bobcat Baseball Hosts NJCAA DII Region 8 Tournament
The 2022 men ’ s baseball season came to an end when the Bobcats ( 40-17 ) lost to Florida State College at Jacksonville 9-2 in the NJCAA DII Region 8 Championship game on Sunday , May 1 . The team battled back to the finals after a tournament-opening loss to ASA College ( 8-7 ) on April 28 . Palm Beach State was eliminated by the Bobcats 10-6 on Friday and ASA 12-2 on Saturday in the loser ’ s bracket games . The Bobcats went against undefeated Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday night and won 13-6 to set up Sunday ’ s championship game . After taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning , FSCJ tied the game 1-1 in the top of the fifth . “ FSCJ went on to score five runs in the top of the sixth for a 6-1 lead and eventually go on to a 9-2 win ,” said PHSC Men ’ s Baseball Head Coach Lyndon Coleman . The Bobcats finished with a record 40 wins breaking the previous record of 37 set in 2009 . “ Despite the loss , it was a great time hosting the first-ever DII Region 8 tournament . A big thank you goes to Dr . Bob Bade and Dylan Spaulding for announcing the tournament on our PHSC Facebook page and the women ’ s softball team for running the concessions each day ,” said Coleman .
