HONORARY LEADERSHIP WILL TRANSFORM THE FUTURE OF PHSC
Through a year of uncertainty , the future of PHSC is in a phase of reflection and transformation . During the 2022-2023 academic year , Pasco-Hernando State College will begin its 50th year since opening to educate the residents of Pasco and Hernando counties in 1972 . Approaching the milestone , the PHSC Foundation is embracing an innovative transformation to embark on a comprehensive campaign to provide an influential impact for the residents of Pasco and Hernando counties .
A feasibility study was conducted in 2019 to determine if PHSC was in position to move forward with a comprehensive campaign , and the results indicated the college should begin planning ! During these initial planning phases , which will include most of 2021 , campaign leadership are being recruited and trained and lead gifts are being identified and solicited . Plans are being made to launch this campaign publicly in the fall of 2022 .
and former Chairman of the Board of the United States Chamber of Commerce , Morsani was an automotive dealer in four states and owned and operated 15 dealerships in Tampa Bay . Morsani is a supporter of workforce development and was a featured speaker at the inaugural PHSC Workforce Stakeholders Engagement Summit in 2019 .
RAO MUSUNURU , M . D . Rao Musunuru , M . D . is a nationally recognized cardiologist and influential philanthropist in our community . Along with many distinguished awards recognizing his generosity and influence , he has been serving as a member of Pasco-Hernando State College District Board of Trustees for the past twenty-two years . Musunuru has also personally given or secured millions of dollars to support College initiatives including countless student scholarships .

Three amazing community leaders have accepted the position of honorary co-chairs for the PHSC Foundation campaign — local philanthropist Frank Morsani , cardiologist and community leader Rao Musunuru , M . D . and Florida Senator and PHSC alumnus Wilton Simpson .

WILTON SIMPSON Wilton Simpson has dedicated himself to serving the citizens of Florida as a local politician . A proud PHSC alumnus , Simpson has served as member of the Florida Senate since 2012 and recently was elected Senate President for the 2020-2022 Legislature . Senator Simpson is a strong advocate for education in the state , a local business owner and previously served on the College ’ s District Board of Trustees .
