epresenting the 2016-2017 scholarship recipients, PHSC student
Leslie Barnwell shared a heartfelt message at the 7 th annual Heart
of Gold Donor Appreciation Luncheon this past February. “You will
never truly know the impression your kindheartedness has had on my life or
the lives of other students,” said Barnwell. “You have believed, supported,
and invested in the future of our dreams, all for the quest of knowledge and
education, and for that, I am humbled and forever grateful.”
Hosted by the PHSC Foundation, the luncheon provides a unique opportunity
for scholarship recipients to personally meet with donors to express gratitude
for the educational support they received. Remarks were also provided by
Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., President, PHSC; Ed Blommel, Chair, PHSC
District Board of Trustees; and Skip Miller, Chair, PHSC Foundation Board
of Directors.
During the 2016-2017 academic year, over $940,000 in Foundation
scholarships were awarded to nearly 900 students. For more information on
