A mascot committee, consisting of staff from Athletics, Student Life and Leadership, and Marketing and Communications managed the process of developing the new mascot spirit brand. To assist with the creation of the mascot, the nationally recognized Walker Brand agency hosted a number of meetings and discussions with representatives of the mascot committee. “We worked through numerous variations of logo and spirit elements before we agreed upon the final PHSC Bobcat Spirit brand image,” said Lucy Miller, Executive Director, Marketing and Communications. “We are pleased with the end result.” “The Bobcat mascot ushers in a new era at the College and will represent PHSC athletic programs and our student population as well as faculty and staff. I am excited for the entire PHSC community to channel Bobcat spirit. Student Life and Leadership will apply that spirit in all they do and I think students will be proud to be Bobcats,” said Bob Bade, Ed.D., Vice President, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “A proud and fearless predator by nature, the Bobcat represents a culture of persistence and adaptability in an ever- changing environment that I believe truly represents the College and its students, faculty and staff.” 16 PHSC Perspective
