COLLEGE UPDATE ECYCLE WITH EDUTECH This year was the E-Learning and Instructional Technology’s seventh annual EduTech Conference. The theme for the conference was “ECycle”: Reuse, Small group learning activities provided opportunities to develop ways to eCycle by reusing, repurposing and remixing. Repurpose, and Remix. Faculty and staff who attended were challenged to take a look at their digital recycling bin, to see what they could repurpose for their classroom either face-to-face or online. The event included an Interactive E-Learning Experience, which required conference participants to B.Y.O.D. (Bring Your Own Device). This experience was facilitated by the E-Learning Center at Florida Atlantic University’s Mary Rotundo and Judy Somers, Ed.D. Conference attendees had to work together to brainstorm ideas to update their teaching practice. The day continued with many more learning experiences, as well as, a delicious lunch provided by Boomer’s Bistro. Everyone who attended enjoyed the day! Boomer the Bobcat made a special appearance at EduTech. IN MEMORIAM Brenda Dotson 1945–2019 Retired employee Brenda Dotson, 73, of Palm Harbor, passed away April 10, 2019. Having worked at the college for 22 years, Brenda was a longtime employee who retired in 2017. She had been the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Faculty Development / College Provost. Brenda is remembered as a kind and helpful person who will be missed by all those who knew and worked with her. 22 PHSC Perspective Brenda Dotson
