FOUNDATION NEWS SPRING SPORTING EVENTS NET $ T 35,000 FOR FOUNDA TION he PHSC Foundation provided sports enthusiasts with several opportunities to enjoy Pasco County’s incredible nature while raising funds for the College’s students. In February, Tampa Bay Sporting Clays, along with presenting sponsors Creative Contractors and Harvard Jolly Architecture, welcomed Foundation supporters to their 260-acre wooded courses. Including assistance from the PHSC Law Enforcement Academy class 107, enthusiasts and beginners enjoyed the obstacles the facility offers. Olivia Walters and Joe Mandracchia received individual awards. Team trophies were provided to Capstone Insurance and Berkshire Hathaway for second place and Saint Leo University for first place. Proceeds from the tournament netted over $20,000 for the PHSC Foundation. 12 PHSC Perspective April showers could not stop the Foundation from holding the 13 th annual Catch and Release Fishing Tournament at Catches Waterfront Grille on April 26. During a short rain delay, anglers enjoyed sharing fishing stories with Ronnie Green, host of the television series, A Fishing Story. When the skies cleared, Steve Lyndo, TECO, Genevieve O’Hara, J & J Plumbing of Florida, and Allen Altman, Harvard Jolly Architecture made record snook, trout and redfish catches. Grand slam winners included Mark Metheny, Lennar Homes, third place; Marsha LaBrie, J & J Plumbing of Florida, second place; and Mike Wells, Lennar Homes, for first place. The tournament netted $16,000 for the PHSC Foundation.
