ONLINE DUAL ENROLLMENT REGISTRATION Last spring, PHSC piloted a new online dual enrollment registration process that proved so successful that time-consuming, in-person registration for dually enrolled students is now a thing of the past. The increasingly popular dual enrollment program, offered at no charge to district students, allows qualified students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously. Crediting extensive collaboration between the Pasco and Hernando county school districts and with the support of the College’s Management Information Services staff, Chiquita Henderson, Dean, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, highlighted the new process at the Annual High School Guidance PHSC ANNOUNCES TRUSTEES APPOINTED BY GOVERNOR In spring, Gov. Rick Scott announced the reappointment of Rao Musunuru, M.D., and the appointments of John Mitten, Raymond Gadd Jr., David Garcia and Lee Maggard to the Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) District Board of Trustees in the first quarter of 2018. “We welcome our newest members of the board,” said PHSC President Timothy Beard, Ph.D. “They each bring valuable experience to the table that will certainly influence how PHSC will continue to serve our students and meet the needs of our community.” Counselors workshop in February. The 100 guests in attendance applauded the new registration method, which essentially eliminated the need for high school students to wait in long lines to register for dual enrollment courses. In June, Gov. Scott also reappointed current trustees Robin Schneider, Alvaro Hernandez, and Lee Maggard, all with terms that will extend through the spring of 2022. In the 2017-18 academic year, 60 dual enrollment students graduated with two-year degrees before officially receiving their high school diplomas, with nine finishing with a 4.0 or higher.
