TAKE STOCK IN CHILDREN
T
he PHSC Take Stock in Children (TSIC) program for Hernando County is a pre-
collegiate, drop-out prevention program that provides mentors, scholarships and hope
for a better future to deserving children who are academically qualified but considered
at-risk due to socioeconomic factors. PHSC proudly partners with the award winning mentoring
program which recently promoted fundraising events to support its endeavors and provide
scholarships to students.
The annual TSIC 5K run/walk took place in February at the PHSC Spring
Hill Campus. Current TSIC scholars along with students from the Sun
Lake Key Club volunteered their time to greet participants, coordinate
registration, and cheer runners along the course route. Medallions were
distributed for 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd place in both the run and walk categories.
The inaugural TSIC golf tournament was held
in May at Brooksville Country Club. The TSIC
