harmony to the area where it is being constructed. Peace Week
festivities closed with the popular sand mandala dissolution
ceremony in which the sand is swept away and cast into a body of
water to represent the impermanence of all things. The ceremony
symbolizes the transience of life and releasing attachment to the
material world, Buddhists believe that when the sand enters the
water, the kindness and compassion of the deity disseminate into
the world to benefit all beings.

In November, PHSC and CareerSource, in cooperation with
Congressman Daniel Webster, hosted Paychecks for Patriots Job
Fair at the PHSC North Campus in Brooksville for veterans or
community members looking for a job.

HUNDREDS SEEK EMPLOYMENT AT PHSC
JOB FAIRS
Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) and CareerSource Pasco
Hernando hosted several job fairs for hundreds of job seekers. In
September, along with the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce,
they hosted the Congressman Gus Bilirakis Job Fair at Porter
Campus at Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel where local health
care, manufacturing and other employers met with job candidates
from the community.
The West Campus in New Port Richey was host to a job and
internship fair in October where local employers with open
positions and future opportunities met prospects from the
community and PHSC students seeking employment and
internships.
PHSC staffers assist job seekers at the North Campus Paychecks for
Patriots Job Fair.
