We are excited to announce that this year marks our 3rd Annual Parys Crater Street Mile ! This event was born from a profound passion for celebrating the incredible athletes of South Africa while uplifting the next generation of talent . It stands as a true testament to our community ’ s spirit , showcasing how we can unite to promote sports , health , and camaraderie among all South Africans .
The Parys Crater Street Mile is not just a race ; it is a charity initiative dedicated to raising funds for our vital Emergency Medical Service ( EMS ) in Parys . We believe in empowering every child with the opportunity to compete , as access to athletic events can often be limited in schools .
This initiative fosters inclusivity and ensures that all aspiring athletes have a chance to shine . As South Africans , we cherish sport and the joy of sharing these moments with friends and family . This event is for everyone - not just athletes but also sports enthusiasts and supporters . Whether you run , walk , or sprint , we want to share this day with you ! Our love for sport and the importance of celebrating health have made this event incredibly special to us .
This year , we are proud to announce that we are an ASA Qualifier for Free State Athletics and a World Certified Mile , underscoring our commitment to hosting the best event possible .
