Parys Panthers Basketball Academy :

Empowering Future Stars

The Parys Panthers Basketball Academy is making significant strides in developing young basketball talent in the Parys community . Founded by Coach Nhlanhla Kguadi , the academy aims to nurture the skills of aspiring athletes while instilling a love for the game . Under Kguadi ’ s leadership , the academy has become a beacon of hope and opportunity for many young players .

Coach Nhlanhla Kguadi : A Journey of Passion and Dedication
Nhlanhla Kguadi , originally from Orange Farm , began her basketball journey in 1996 with the team “ Lebras ,” guided by Coach Elvis from Ghana . Her talent quickly became evident , and by 1997 , she was recognized as the Most Valuable Player ( MVP ) of her team , earning a gold medal that solidified her
passion for the sport . After moving to Parys in 2007 and marrying a supportive husband , Kguadi saw an opportunity to give back to the community . In 2014 , while reflecting on her experiences , Kguadi recognised a need for basketball development in Parys .
She took initiative by starting a basketball programme aimed at youth engagement . In 2015 , she attended a Level 1 basketball coaching clinic in Bloemfontein , which equipped her with essential coaching skills . Despite facing challenges in establishing the academy , Kguadi ’ s unwavering love for basketball propelled her forward . By 2024 , the academy had grown to include three divisions : Under 16 boys and girls , Under 18 boys , and senior men ’ s teams . The Panthers have achieved remarkable success , winning multiple
