ROCHE, HEAD & ASSOCIATES PUT TRUST AT FOREFRONT
O
ver the years, accounting firms have
seen many different name changes
with the loss of partners, last-name
changes and new ownership. But when two
firms came together in 2015, it merged one
of the oldest firms in the county together
with one of the youngest.
Gustaf C. Lundin & Co., LLP was
established in 1926; Karen S. Roche CPA,
PLC was established in 1980 and in 2015,
the two combined to create Roche, Head &
Associates, PLLC.
The merge brought all of the Gustaf C.
Lundin + Co., LLP staff to the new location
and the firm closed it’s doors though several
in the office still hold onto the history with
the name.
Inside the firm clients will find plenty of
crosses and angels looking down at them
as they have help with their taxes or other
financial needs as the firm believes in
honoring God in everything they do.
All employees have become more than just
co-workers and have taken it farther than
being a team and instead have become a
family who calls Scotland County home
though only a few come from the area.
“I grew up in a big city and I much prefer
it here,” said Carl Head. “Overall, it’s the
quality of life and it’s much more personal to
be in a smaller area.”
The firm is one of the only full-service
accounting firms in the county offering
audits, tax help, financial counseling, payroll
and more to its clients. Over the years

clients have stuck with the firm through the
name changes and even after some clients
have moved out of state and the reasoning is
simple, trust.
“I always end every letter I write with ‘your
confidence and trust is serious business and
we don’t take that lightly, it is a privilege
to serve you,” Roche said. “The last thing I
always say is ‘may God bless you and may
his light shine upon you.’”
