GRANT’S EXPRESS TIRE & AUTO HEADLINE HERE G rant’s Express Tire and Auto is under new management and is pushing forward in providing quality vehicle services. Michael Webster put in the time working for Grant’s since its establishment in 2003, working up from a mechanic to the management ranks, and last year seized on the opportunity to buy it. Self-taught, Webster has been going under the hood since 1998, and he has a no-nonsense philosophy in working with customers. “There’s certain things that people ask if I can do it because they want honesty. I try to involve my customers with each repair,” Webster said. “I take the time to explain what’s going on with the vehicle — to explain what’s wrong and what’s not. I want to fix it right the first time instead of wasting their time.” Pulling into one of their two locations in Hamlet or Cheraw, you can pick up all major brands of tires, get an oil change — which Webster said they’re most often recommended for — get a tune up, fix brakes, get an alignment, and all other forms of maintenance. Grant’s is a TechNet Automotive Service Center, meaning their staff are trained and certified technicians, that they provide the highest quality parts, have access to the latest equipment and the newest technology to diagnose and repair your vehicle, according to TechNet. Grant’s is currently a finalist for “Best Auto Shop” in the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce’s The Rock Awards. At each of the two locations, the staff at Grant’s runs a high-volume showroom, turning out 20 to 30 cars a day. They service all of Richmond and Chesterfield counties, and are now pulling customers from Anson, Moore and Scotland counties. But Webster said he won’t be satisfied until they’re competing with the national chains. Whatever changes the future holds, whether it be adding electric charging stations or seating areas for those who want to get work done while they wait, Grant’s commitment to quality service will remain the same. Grant’s uses their state-of-the-art scanning equipment to narrow down the cause of the vehicle’s problem, allowing them to provide faster, more accurate results and avoid any unnecessary expenses for the customer. “If I can’t tell them what’s wrong with it then we won’t do the repair,” Webster said. The Hamlet location is at 101 Cheraw Rd., and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
