n 1959, Clyde and Ruth Jenkins founded
Jenkins Automotive and Industrial
Supply, Inc., an automotive and industrial
parts store on Long Drive in Rockingham.
Since then, their store has transformed
to meet customer needs, adding custom-
made hydraulic hoses, auto glass sales and
installation, heavy duty truck parts, tractor
and implement parts, various industrial
supplies and many more items not found in
traditional parts stores, as well as starter and
alternator testing service.
The store’s new generation of owners,
brothers Frank and Graham Jenkins, along
with the staff who make up the rest of the
Jenkins Automotive family, take great pride
in standing out among the many chain stores
as the only independent parts company
remaining in Rockingham.
Today, Jenkins Automotive represents more
than 200 product lines for auto, truck and
industrial trades and serves a customer
base that spans approximately a 50 mile
radius. As a representative of Carquest Auto
Parts, Jenkins has more than one hundred
thousand parts available at any given time as
well as heavy duty truck parts and industrial
supplies. And the key to staying in business
for 61 years? It all comes down to their
“customer first” approach.

p.m. Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to
3 p.m. on Saturday and is closed on Sunday.
