The Adventures in Reading series contains a succession of progressively challenging stories, nonfiction texts, and poems covering a wide variety of genres including science fiction, cautionary tales, and plays. The content has been carefully selected to extend primary level children’ s general knowledge, instill moral values, create awareness of other cultures as well as develop reading skills and interests. Full-color illustrations are closely integrated with the text. Activities for each reading passage are provided in the Teacher’ s Manual accompanying each book.

Organized into multiple fun themes, each unit starts with a contextualized picture dictionary. The adventures of central characters Tom and Alice presented in pictures and reading texts provide a source of fun and motivation. The subsequent literal and inferential questions promote oral and thinking skills. 2 Audio CDs are included to support the reading texts.
