Laundry Care • • • • • • • “All of our microfibre cloths can be laundered in the washing machine.“ “At Norwex we have an amazing product ‘Ultra Power Plus TM or UPP’ as we call it, which contains no perfumes, phosphates, dyes or fillers.” “Can anyone tell me what fillers are?” (Opportunity for guests to answer…) “Fillers can be micro-beads, cardboard, sand or surfactants that never break down. You can sometimes find remains on your clothes after washing or that build up of gunk inside your washing machine.” Some believe that using more soap or detergent in their washing will get their clothes cleaner, which is why fillers are added – to make it look like you’re using more. But that’s not always the case. The added chemicals are also bad for you, not to mention the environment. “Many people use fabric softener to get rid of the ‘crunch’ feeling that comes from fillers’.” “UPP is great for people with sensitive skin as there are no fillers that may irritate the skin.” Demo Ideas At the start of the party • Fill two glasses of water, both with the same levels. • Place a teaspoon of UPP in one glass. • Place a teaspoon of a supermarket laundry powder in the other glass. • Stir both and ask your guests how long their load of clothes would take to wash – explain that you will come back to the demonstration at the end. • Show guests that the UPP is clear due to no fillers and the other has not dissolved due to fillers present – lift the commercial glass and show the guests. 16
