Meet Linda Rhodes, Resident of the Month
Linda Rhodes was born in Kansas City, Missouri
Oct, 23, 1955, to parents James and Marilyn
Fudge. Linda’s father was a Welder and her moth-
er was a cook. Her mother cooked at Parkview for
several years after the building opened in 1992.
Linda grew up in Oxnard, California with siblings
Ronnie and Lisa. Ronnie passed away at the age of
33. Her sister, Lisa, is a Lieutenant in the Sherriff’s
office in Lawrence, Kansas. The Fudge family
spent their summers travelling from California to
Missouri to visit family. The family also enjoyed
camping and lived only a few miles from the
beach! Linda remembers walking there often with
her uncle. Linda graduated from Oxnard High
School in 1973.
Linda met Marc Rhodes at church and the two
were married in January 1974. Marc was in the
Military and the family travelled often living in
Texas, Mississippi, Maryland, California, and even
a short stay in Puerto Rico. Linda had three sons Steven, Christopher, and James.
She has six grandchildren; Caelin, Jaden, Ali, Allen, Anakin, and Tucker; she also
has three great grandchildren; R.J., Colton, and Bentley.
Throughout her life Linda spent her time raising her boys, travelling, and working.
She often worked in hotels as a housekeeper. She would also provide childcare to
families. In 1989 Linda and her boys settled in Bolivar to be near family. She contin-
ued to work as a housekeeper and provided care to her son and grandmother. Sad-
ly, Linda lost her son, Christopher to cancer in 2005.
Linda enjoys several hobbies including crocheting, decorating photo album covers,
coloring, reading, word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, ceramics and crafts. She continues
these hobbies today. Linda shared that faith and family are very important to her.
She grew up in church and accepted Christ at the age of 16. She currently attends
Country Side Assembly church in Bolivar. She is also blessed to be close to family
while living here at Parkview. Her son James works in dietary, Daughter in law, Livie
serves breakfast and Daughter in Law Carrie is a nursing supervisor.
Linda came to Parkview in June 2019. Her favorite thing about Parkview is the nice
people. She also shared, “I’m never alone here.” Congratulations, Linda, on being
chosen as the Parkview Healthcare Facility resident of the month.
