Parkview is an awesome
place to work. I love the

Meet Carolyn Eggleston, Resident of the Month
Carolyn Eggleston was born on May 31, 1943, in Boone,
Iowa, to Mike and Josephine Clark. She was the middle child
of five having one older brother and sister, and one younger
brother and sister. Carolyn shared that she was born at only
24 weeks and weighed only 3 lbs and 3 oz. She was not
expected to live and while in the hospital her mother was
given a scripture card with Psalm 121:8 “The LORD will
keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth
and forevermore.” Carolyn’s parents clung to that verse
while she was in the hospital.
Carolyn enjoyed attending grade school and played the
violin for a few years. Her favorite subject in high school was
speech class and she has enjoyed reading and writing poet-
ry her entire life.
Carolyn first saw her husband, Frank, at her home in the
back yard. He was a tree trimmer and she was out back
riding her pony. The two officially met at the Roller Rink soon after — Carolyn was there with her
friends and they all noticed that Frank was very handsome. She was surprised when he ap-
proached her and asked her to skate. The couple met in 1961, became engaged in 1962, and
married Jan. 26, 1963. Their wedding was held at their church and it happened to be a chilly
-26 degrees out on the day of the wedding!
Frank was the manager of the meat department at Hy-Vee until he retired and Carolyn
babysat children in her home while raising her own children and also worked as a nurse’s aide
in a nursing home until having to have a double knee replacement.
Frank and Carolyn have three children; Jeff, Don, and Kim. They have eight grandchildren
and just had their first great grandbaby.
After retiring, the couple moved to Arkansas to be near lakes and enjoy camping and fishing.
Frank and Carolyn then moved to Bolivar to be near their daughter, Kim, who is a nurse at CMH.
Throughout her life Carolyn has enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and painting. Carolyn shares that
the Lord has always been very important to her and that she has always trusted in Him. “Trust
in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge Him in all
your ways and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
While here at Parkview, Carolyn enjoys being able to visit with Frank. Some of the things she
enjoys most about Parkview are the pleasant and friendly staff and having people close by to
help when needed.
Congratulations Carolyn on being chosen as the Parkview Healthcare Facility Resident of the
Month.
