A chat with:
Meet Lindell and Beth, Residents of the Month
Dana Johnson
Lindell Hunter was born March 27,
1922, to Ralph and Olah Hunter in Pat-
terson, Missouri. Ralph worked in a saw
mill while Olah stayed at home raising
Lindell and his two siblings.
Lindell worked in the electrical industry
and fought in World War II. Lindell was
married to Ethel for 54 years. Lindell
traveled through the Continental Unit-
ed States in an RV and operated a ham
radio. He spoke to people in Australia
and Antarctica.
What is your job at PV?
I am the Social Services
Designee. I schedule ap-
pointments and transporta-
tion along with helping
with office duties.
How long have you
worked at PVHCF?
I’ve been with CMH for 26
years! I’ve worked in the
hospital (Dietary and Ma-
terials Management) and
LTC facilities (CMHCF). I
transferred to PV in May
of 2019.
What is your favorite
thing about Parkview?
The atmosphere of
excellence!
What is your favorite thing
to do when you are not at
work?
I love spending time with
my husband of 37 years
and my German Shepherd
named, Sasha. We go on
walks/hikes daily!
Beth Smith was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Lebanon, Missouri to Ira and Ada Everett.
They worked as farmers and raised their six children in Camdenton, Missouri. Beth
was married to Moten Smith and they had two children, Linda and Larry, as well as
five grandchildren together. Beth worked as a bank officer, and later as a stock bro-
ker. She enjoys knitting and crocheting.
Beth and Moten moved to a retirement community in Bolivar, Missouri, and a few
months later Lindell and Ethel moved to the same community. They lived in a re-
tirement community with a condo separating their houses. In 2012, Lindell and Beth
lost their respective spouses. The next summer, Beth asked Lindell to join her at
church and he said yes. This was their first date and the start of their wonderful rela-
tionship together. They continued going to church together and growing closer for
three months until Lindell proposed.
Lindell and Beth were married Sept. 2013 in Bolivar, Missouri. The couple love
spending time together and taking care of one another. You can always find them
roaming the halls together and holding hands!
Lindell and Beth moved to Parkview in Dec. 2019 and when asked their favorite thing
about living at Parkview they said, “not having to wash dishes, and that everyone we
meet is so friendly.”
Congratulations, Lindell and Beth, for being chosen as Parkview Health Care Facili-
ty’s Residents of the Month!
