Meet Darlene Garzee, Resident of the Month

Darlene Garzee was born April 25, 1966, to Billie and
Loma Patterson. Darlene’s father was from Pleasant

Over the years, Darlene worked as a cashier at General Express, which is now Woods
Express. She also drove a school bus for 10 years when her son, Cody, was in second
grade until his junior year of high school. She then worked as a CMH Health Transit Driver
for one year.
Darlene is very proud of her son, Cody, and even keeps an eighth grade framed drawing of his in her drawer. She remains very close to her best friend, Bonzel. The two have
been friends since middle school. Bonzel is currently living in Kansas City, but has plans
to move to be closer to Darlene.
Some of Darlene’s hobbies in the past were quilting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and
walking. Darlene loves animals and her favorite are cats, horses, wolves. She is also a
long-time fan of the Dallas Cowboys - since her childhood.
Darlene has been at Parkview for two months and one of her favorite things about
Parkview is her roommate, Mamie Percival. Mamie made her feel very welcome and she
feels blessed to have her as a roommate. They describe each other as sisters and share
many laughs and memories. Mamie even grew up with Darlene’s son’s great grandparents. Darlene has learned that some of the residents who live at Parkview also knew her
