Meet JoAnne Hopkins, Resident of the Month
JoAnne Hopkins was born on Aug. 1, 1930,
near
Fair Play, Mo. JoAnne was the only child of

After she graduated in 1948, JoAnne attended

taking a job at the Whole Sale Grocery store in
Bolivar. While working at the Whole Sale Grocery store, JoAnne and Bruce began
dating. The couple were married in 1950 in a small ceremony, at the home of
their preacher. After one year of marriage, Bruce joined the Marine Corp., and
was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. Upon completing basic training,
Joanne found a one-bedroom apartment San Marcus, Calif., in order to be closer
to Bruce. Eventually the couple returned to Missouri and started the Fair Play
Sales and Auction Company. Bruce was the auctioneer and JoAnne took care of
clerking farm sales.
JoAnne has been blessed with three children, six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren, all who live close and visit often. When she wasn’t busy running
