operations and special maintenance projects . Youth sports , including tennis , golf , and field sports , receive substantial volunteer assistance as well as financial contributions .
Locust Grove National Historic Landmark and Riverside , the Farnsley-Moremen Landing which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places , both receive essential support from their partner non-profit corporations . The Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy has been a long standing partner in the maintenance and improvement of the Olmsted-designed parks and parkways . The Louisville Metro Parks Foundation and Wilderness Louisville are each dedicated to beneficial projects for the Department and its users . These and other partnerships require substantial time and attention from Department administration and staff , but are necessary to supplement the appropriated funds and earned income .
