the quality and extent of forests in all Metro Parks and Recreation properties, not just natural
resource parks and fragments, is an essential management goal. The primary management
principle of forested areas is to raise the level of values and skills in land management and
forestry, both in the minds of the public and in the practice of public employees. With this in
mind, 'Tree Commandments' were developed to employ this policy (Table12).
