ecosystem health. Numerous listed bird species
have the potential to be sited at this location.
Historical sightings of Kirtland’s Snake (G2)
This property has undergone woodland restoration
between 2012 to present and will eventually
become a more diverse forest.

are observed on the river at this location.
This is a very rich forested habitat with numerous
cliff lines and a large waterfall. A thorough
biological inventory has the potential to show the
presence of listed species.
Historical sighting of Kirtland’s Snake (G2) near
the southeast boundary
Jefferson Forest is the largest park within the
system at a bit under 7000 acres. Narrow Blue
Curls is the only listed plant species identified to
date, but there is potential for many others. The
calcareous mesophytic forests are abundant.

Work to restore Kentucky Gladecress habitat was
begun in 2014 with encouraging preliminary
results. Additional work to restore these glades
should take place. McNeely also has numerous
caves which could provide habitat for several rare B3
