Participants will have a blast in this exciting STEM program. Our innovative approach to coding is sure to spark your child’ s interest in computer science, using a simple, relatable, blockbased programming system called Scratch, developed by the MIT Media Lab. This fun-filled class stresses critical thinking, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to prepare them for the 21st century and beyond. Class topics include video game design, loops, control structure, conditional expressions, control statements, object-oriented design concepts, data structures and variables, and mathematical expressions. Intro to AI: Create Worlds with Handson AI Literacy & Safety

Become an AI expert and create the next Mario, Pokémon, or Star Wars. Imagine your child designing their own characters, worlds, and stories, then watching them come to life as videos, 3D animated models, and a published game. Participants start with paper and pencil, then work with instructors to bring their ideas to life using AI in a guided, responsible way. This program blends video game design, movie making, and 3D animation into one hands-on experience. By the end, participants will have built a portfolio of videos, 3D animated models, and a published video game they will be proud to share!

Introducing AI Safely to Children

This workshop led by Aspen Buckingham will introduce the Walled Garden model, a safe, teacher-guided approach to AI in K-12 settings and how parents can support their children with AI literacy. Participants start with a“ Real or AI?” warm-up game, then experience a guided character-creation activity the way a child would, making images, videos, 3D models, and games. The session includes real portfolios, a ready-to-use lesson plan, parent logins, and practical guidance so attendees can implement AI safely in their homes.
