Culture The history of Parker County is steeped in land and ranch culture. The Doss Heritage Center houses a permanent interactive display that teaches about early pioneer and American Indian Life and the beginnings of Parker County. It is also home to a rotating exhibit that takes guests back into the early days of our community. Chil- dren of all ages enjoy programs at “The Doss”. “Homeschool Days” walk students through hands-on-history, preschool story time intrigues young readers and “Doss After Dark University” engages older students through unique guest lecture series. The Parker County Library Associa- tion (PCLA) runs the “PEACH project”; Preserving and Expanding Access to Culture and History. By digitizing documents, maps, photographs and newspapers related to Parker County history, the PCLA ensures our culture and history is available to generations to come.
