Campus in Aledo. In addition to excelling academically, Brittin stands out among her peers for her leader- ship abilities, extracurricular involve- ment, and desire to serve others. She serves and supports the Bearcats through the athletic trainer program, attending practices and games for several different sports, including football, soccer, and baseball. She is an active member of the Leading Ladies, a philanthropic organization for young women at Aledo High School, which focuses on growing and inspiring young women to be leaders in the commu- nity and beyond. One example of service that Brittin has completed with the Leading Ladies group is helping prepare and serve a spaghetti dinner to raise money for scholar- ships donated by the Aledo Education Foundation this spring. She also serves with Friends of Rachel, an organization at her school that focus- es on showing kindness to others and reaching out to welcome new students at the campus.  Outside of school, Brittin dedi- cates her time to working with special needs students at Camp Summit in the summers, volunteering at the Center of Hope, and leading worship at her church, all of which she immensely enjoys. She has participated in several international mission trips, including multiple trips to Jamaica and Canada. In a few weeks, she is traveling to India to serve for a week during spring break. While there, she will be working with orphans in a children’s home, ministering to widows from the local villages, and visiting people suffer- ing with leprosy. Brittin clearly has a heart for service and is making an impact in our community and around the world.  Brittin is the daughter of Bryan and Julie Choate of Hudson Oaks. She has an older brother and best friend, Ben, who is a senior at AHS.  “Music is a huge part of her life, and she loves to sing while playing the piano or guitar, especially when she can sing with Ben. Outside of school, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, shopping, and just being an everyday teenager,” her mom said. Brittin has a special spiri- tual connection and says, “I believe God has given me the ability and called me by name to love others in a way that is different than the world is used to. The things I do are simply a response to that calling.” Her plans are to pursue a degree and a career in nursing after graduating in 2022.
