TV: “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers and “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen   PCT: What do you do to decompress? TV: I like to run and enjoy lifting weights at crossfit.   PCT: What is something people don’t know about you? TV: I tried a lot of different career paths before finding police work. I was a licensed cosmetologist, earned a degree in social work, a teacher’s certification, and an all-star cheer- leading coach.    PCT: What would you most like to be remembered for? TV: Loving and serving people.   PCT: What’s your favorite way to pay it forward? TV: I enjoy volunteering within the community and mentoring children. I grew up in Weatherford and benefit- ted greatly from adults who invested in me and I hope to do the same for others.    PCT: If you could choose to have lunch with anyone, living or dead from history, who would it be? Why? TV: Esther, she was a woman who trusted God boldly and used her posi- tion for good.   PCT: If you had to pursue another career, other than the one you have now, what would you do? TV: I would probably choose a career that involved child advocacy or working to end human trafficking. Human trafficking has been the topic of most of my graduate studies and I plan to actively volunteer with local organizations in the metroplex once I finish school.   PCT: What’s the best piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in your field? TV: Work hard and commit to being a man/woman of integrity. Every “little” decision you make while doing this job can potentially make a big difference in someone’s life. Also, have fun. This is an awesome job.   PCT: What is the coolest thing you have done in your life? TV: Some things that I consider cool may be considered torture to others, but in February me and two of my best friends completed the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon together. Linda Kline Linda is the Co-Organizer of the Parker County Bridal Fair and a Community Volunteer know about you? LK: I’m a fourth-generation resident of Parker County. I attended Weath- erford school K-Weatherford College, an avid weather watcher, love cats, and have visited almost all presiden- tial libraries. I had a recipe published in Cooking Light Gluten Free Cook- book. My husband and I advocated and worked to get the current Food Labeling Bill passed so the top eight allergens are listed on labels. PCT: What would you most like to be remembered for? LK: I try to be a good Christian person, to be kind, fair, polite, thoughtful and friendly to others and to treat others like I would like to be treated. PCT: What’s your favorite way to pay it forward?  LK: For six years, I’ve volunteered at church to pack food for kids at Mary Martin who otherwise wouldn’t have food for the weekends. I also served on the Friends of the Library Board for 24 years promoting literacy. Parker County Today: How did you get into your occupation? LK: After graduating from Texas A&M, I worked as a pension account manager before becoming a stay at home mom. My husband, David, and I started a business, Video Capades, 32 years ago. We decided to promote Weatherford businesses by starting the Parker County Bridal Fair 18 years ago. Following my mother’s footsteps, I also became very involved in many civic organizations, including our daughter’s school, PTA, church and other organizations. PCT: What is your favorite novel? LK: Dinner with The Smiley’s by Sarah Smiley, a charming book about hospi- tality. I also enjoy reading cookbooks and healthy living publications. PCT: What do you do to decompress? LK: I enjoy baking, crafts, and visiting family and friends. PCT: What is something people don’t PCT: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would be? LK: I love eating with family. If I could, I would have lunch with fam- ily who are no longer living because I miss them, especially my Dad. PCT: If you had to do another job than what you’re doing, what would you do? LK: I’m basically content with what I’m doing now.  PCT: What is your definition of the best day every?  LK: Being with family, shopping, eating out, touring special gardens and visiting either a historic place or Disney World. PCT: What’s the best piece of advice you would give?  LK: Pray more and worry less. Never give up on a cause you feel deeply about. PCT: What is the coolest thing you feel you have done in your life?  LK: Being the mom of a fabulous daughter. Continued on page 90
