A Little Romance in The Big Apple

I
t was snowing the night they met at
a birthday bash for a mutual friend
held on Coney Island. It was Dec. 27,
1996. Olusegun was in a residency
program at Columbia University
and Catherine was in an externship
program at Yale. He’d grown up in
London and she’d lived and worked
there for a time as a fashion model.
Both of them were well-traveled
foodies that loved art, music and the
theatre.
He caught her eye the moment he
walked into the party.
“Every other man there wore jeans
and a t shirt but he was wearing
tweed,” Catherine said. “He was very
British, such a gentleman, so polite
and very handsome.”
Once they met, the conversation
flowed smoothly and they were both
stunned by how much they had in
common.
