Short Chef Owner Jennifer
Hankins Lundy made her foray into
the food industry with a catering
business and then added a restaurant
and coffee house. Recently, however,
Lundy decided to focus her creativity
strictly on her catering business.
Short Chef’s turkey and dressing,

meal — it’s an experience. Or opt for
one of their impressive ham or roast

From Historic Camp
Bowie Mercantile —
The Best Kept Secret
on Camp Bowie
Historic Camp Bowie Mercantile
was founded by Fort Worth busi-
nessman and philanthropist Holt
Hickman, opening the doors in
March of 2007. His dream was to
have an antique mall for the masses
to enjoy. After his death, his family
decided to carry on the tradition
that he started by maintaining the
history of the place while allowing
people to buy what they want to
buy. Originally starting as a tradi-
tional antique mall, this open-air
marketplace, now known as “The
Mercantile”, has evolved to a real
mercantile that offers over 200 dealer
booths with an impressive collection
of gifts, home décor, antiques, fash-
ion, furniture and more under one
roof.
This one stop shop is the perfect
place to do all your holiday shop-
ping, a place where you can shop
and eat, and may not see everything
in the day. They are also a perfect
place to buy a gift for the millen-
nial in your life. Trying to focus
on a younger demographic, The
Mercantile has brought in a lot of
vendors, changing the aesthetic of the
location. They also added two men’s
stores for the picky man in your life.
Hours of operation are Monday –
Saturday, 10-6 p.m. and Sunday,

Helen Bowers. The Rose Garden is a
traditional tearoom that serves every-
thing from fantastic quiche and spicy
southern crepes to fruit with poppy
seed dressing. Round out your experi-
ence by drinking some hot English
tea or their unique iced rose tea.
The Rose Garden Tearoom is an
