#7. City Lights Theater Each Tuesday from June 9 through Aug. 11, the movie theater is hosting a Family Film Festival benefiting CASA of Parker County. The movies begin at 10 a.m. with the doors opening at 9 a.m. The cost is only 50 cents, so you can splurge for popcorn too. I know it’s only 10 a.m., but everybody loves popcorn. #8. Boomin’ 4th Fun for the whole family, Boomin’ 4th is held on July 4 from 6 to 10 p.m. in Hudson Oaks. This event, sponsored by the East Parker Chamber and the City of Hudson Oaks, has really grown in the past couple of years. It is in Gene L. Voyles Park, 210 N. Lakeshore Drive in Hudson Oaks with free shuttle parking from the Hudson Oaks Wal-Mart parking lot. The celebration of our nation’s birthday includes arts and crafts, face painting, food trucks and plenty of room for you to set up your lawn chairs and a picnic to watch the fireworks. The celebration and the shuttle buses are both free. #9. Parker County Public Libraries Summer is a great time to kick back in a hammock and read a book.
