In an interview with Parker County Today
Magazine, after he was named as one of its Top
100 Most Interesting Parker County People, Roger
said, “Too many of the people who hold office are
people who have never had to make payroll and
don’t understand what it’s like to have to try and
make a business run.”
While serving on the Weatherford College Board
of Trustees, Roger made an even greater impact on
education in Parker County.
“On behalf of friends and family of United
States Speaker Jim Wright, we are forever grateful to
Roger for his support and encouragement naming
the Weatherford College Library, The Speaker Jim
Wright Library. Roger was larger than life with his
love for Christ, people and community. He will
always be with us,” said Jamie Bodiford-Brinkley,
another family friend.
For newcomers to Weatherford, Roger was often
the first local friend they made.
Kelly Lindner-Hamilton recalled her initial visit
to Weatherford with her husband James Hamilton,
a Weatherford native who worked at Pizza Place as
a teenager. “I first met Roger when I was going to
Weatherford with James for the very first time. ‘You
have to try this pizza with this creamy Italian dress-
