Dr . Robbins is the owner of Robbins Pediatrics , a comprehensive pediatric practice providing well and sick child care to children from newborn through the age of 21 .
PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? BR : I have been in Parker County 15 1 / 2 years , coming here right after residency . I went to medical school in Fort Worth and then did three years of residency at a county hospital in Amarillo . There was only one pediatrician at the time in Weatherford when I came , so there was a need .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? BR : I ’ ve done a lot of cool things . I ’ ve raced bicycles against Lance Armstrong in Arizona , back in the day before he turned pro and went to nationals . I ’ ve skied at the Matterhorn in Switzerland . When you got to the top you could ski either down to Italy or to Switzerland ; your ski pass covered both resorts . I also lived on the French Riviera for about a year .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? BR : I speak fluent French . I can jump horses .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? BR : I went to Les Deaux Alpes , a ski resort in the French Alps , in the summer . I went up in a gondola and saw people skiing in the summer on a glacier . So , that would be a perfect day , wake up late , go on a bike ride , and then go ski on a glacier . You can also paraglide there , so I ’ d like to try that . End with eating yummy French food with my beautiful wife and drinking a $ 50 bottle of Bordeaux . That would be a perfect day .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up till now ? BR : If you want something , go out and earn it .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ? BR : I would probably be an exercise physiology professor . That ’ s really my passion . I had the opportunity to do it through my mentor at Berkeley ; I ’ d like to teach .
