The adventure began with land purchased, move made, plans drawn, construction started, and
a place called The Brooks at Weatherford became reality. Chiseled rock, wrought iron, and antique
wood form the country chapel’s courtyard entry. Stained glass windows, rustic gables, teakwood
doors, and an 18-foot steeple beautifully appoint the chapel’s exterior. Inside, a breathtakingly
beautiful setting of timber trusses, rustic chandeliers, and antique church pews set the tone of rever-
ence and significance of a wedding day. The arched picture and stained glass windows framing the
tree-covered hillside create a most picturesque ceremony backdrop.

THE SPRINGS stumbled into success. It was originally born as an idea from a Texan family —
none of whom had wedding experience — but saw a need for gorgeous event venues with little
restrictions and a full-day experience. The family had the perfect mix — an accountant, an archi-
tect, a builder with landscape experience, an entrepreneur, and an operations leader. The first
venue was built just north of Houston in the Lake Conroe area in 2009. They developed something
unique and stress-free for couples.
“Our operations style appeals to couples who don’t want the hotel or resort experience, rather a
family-operated business with relationships as a key value, both with vendors and with our clients,”
Kristen McConachie explained. “Now, we have 14 locations in the Houston, DFW and Oklahoma
regions and employ 150-plus hardworking people. We serve 3,000 weddings a year and are proud
to be ‘The Wedding Venue Experts’ that couples trust!”

“Our rental allows couples to have the venue all day, with only two vendor requirements (bar
service and security), but couples can still bring in their own catering and alcohol,” McConachie
explained. “The large space and well-equipped facilities allow couples the opportunity to get ready
onsite, host a ceremony and reception exactly how they want it, with little decor needed since land-
scaping is also a priority — it’s gorgeous, year-round.”
They are also different in their upfront pricing. With flat rates and no hidden fees, it’s a breath
of fresh air for couples who want all the information before the tour. They also offer generous
discounts for non-Saturday events and also for off-season dates. McConachie says that her favorite
thing about their venue is the people.
“We have the opportunity to meet and interact with [people] on a daily basis,” McConachie
explained. “We often tell others that we have one of the greatest jobs in the world, getting to see
and be part of so many joyous moments in our couple’s lives. No two couples, weddings, or days
are the same, and that makes our job so enjoyable.”
