TREASURER their careers on the rise, Clyde and Lauren decided the time had come to exchange vows. “We always knew that we wanted to get married on a ranch,” Lauren said. “I happened to see an Instagram photo of a friend of a friend of a friend who had gotten married at the Wildcatter Ranch.” All she could see was the view. When she first saw the photo, she had no idea it was the Wildcatter Ranch. “I researched,” she said. One day, over breakfast they decided to go and look at wedding venues. She called the ranch and they offered to meet with Clyde and Lauren that day. Once they chose the venue, the rest fell into place. Lauren and her mother, (she’s the amazing Tara Stark) made most of the wedding plans together. “Because I was my mom’s only child, it was a huge deal for her and me,” Lauren said. Of course, Clyde was a big part of the plan- ning process as well. He was still in school, so many times they would do the leg work and run the choices by him. Lauren and Tara, along with Tara’s mother, Linda Stark went bridal gown shopping on day. That’s when they found “The Dress.” “When I went to pick out my bridal gown I had this idea of the perfect bridal gown for me,” Lauren said. Her vision was big, puffy with layers and layers of lace, with tulle and puff sleeves. She wanted a vintage look. They walked into Birdie Bridal near Eagle Mountain Lake and Lauren immediately spotted her cloud of a “dream gown.” It went into the dressing room with nine other gowns. “I just knew that would be ‘The One,” she said. But the first gown she tried on was lace with a vintage look. It was not the “big and puffy,” gown of her dreams. “It was lace and it was beauti- ful,“ she said. She stepped out of the dressing room and her mother and grandmother were stunned. Then, she tried on the lace confection of a gown, the gown of her dreams.
