ight grader Rebecca Ellis has been shown on
the local level for eight years, showing rabbits,
chickens, goats and lambs. In the past four years,
she began showing at major shows, including
Houston, San Antonio, Austin and the Texas State
Fair.
In addition to the major shows, Rebecca also
competes in the local jackpot shows and the
Parker County Livestock show where she won
Reserve Grand Champion 2019 Parker County with
chickens. In Houston she placed 18 th out of a field
of 200+ competitors.
Rebecca recalls a “funny after the fact” moment
earlier in her ag career.
“When I was in the first grade, my goat drug
me around the show ring,” she explained.
Rebecca does take time to do some personal
fun stuff, like running track, taking pictures and
helping around the farm feeding the cows and
other farm hand chores. Rebecca stays busy with
her involvement in Millsap 4H and Millsap FFA.
She also looks up to her father for inspiration in the
ag world, so much so that she is setting her sights
on studying ag at Tarleton University.
