Tatum and Kylie Rice of T Bar K Cutting Horses are famous for the way they care for the cutting horses that clients entrust to their care . They ’ re known for treating their charges as if they were their own horses — showing great attention to every detail and precision at their farm off Granbury Highway ( Highway 51 South ).
Tatum and Kylie , who have been married for almost five years , make an effective team . Tatum trains the horses while Kylie oversees the business aspect and other areas of their operation .
Tatum is a Texas native ( he hails from Spearman ) while Kylie is an Arizona native who came to Texas as a TCU student seeking a major in sociology and a minor in psychology ; but once she earned her degree , she stayed in Texas .
“ I met Tatum pretty quickly after I moved out here ,” Kylie said . “ I always loved it here and I never had any concrete plans to leave . I made Texas home pretty quickly .” What is the most challenging part of their business ? “ It ’ s a 24 / 7 business ,” she said . “ It ’ s pretty hard to shut it off .” And , the best part ? “ Getting to work together . Seeing each other all the time . We have a lot of flexibility . We have a 9-month-old daughter ( named Kennedy ) and we get to spend a lot of time with her .”
