Patty Berry Oglesby
Patty and her husband Tim own AA Wrecker Service together , but this is a second career for her . Her first career was working as an officer with the Weatherford Police Department
PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? PO : I was born and raised here .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? PO : Honeymoon in Jamaica , rafting down the Royal Gorge and going on a seven-day Caribbean cruise . The day I pinned on my Weatherford Police Department badge .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? PO : I can discern when any of my livestock are in distress early on and have learned to trust my instincts . I use all my resources and focus on getting them fixed .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? PO : Sitting on a lake , fishing with my husband and son from sunup to sundown . Catching fish is always a bonus !
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up until now ? PO : Be quick to forgive and always look inside yourself first before you blame others .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ?
PO : A fishing guide and fish in and win tournaments . Don ’ t laugh . I can catch fish ! My most rewarding career is being Ryan ’ s mom . This little blessing came a little later in our life but God ’ s timing is always right . Tim and I love this little boy to the moon and back .
PCT : How did you get into your current job ? PO : My husband and I bought AA Wrecker Service , Inc . in April of 2008 .
PCT : What would you do if you weren ’ t doing this job ? PO : I would expand our Boer goat and Angus cow operation . Oh , and chickens . We have chickens that lay eggs of all colors . And I would fish more .
PCT : What would you most like to be remembered for ? PO : As being a kindhearted , happy soul . I ’ m naturally a quiet person and some don ’ t know how to take me until they get to know me better . I have always believed in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior . I am a blessed woman , and you can have that , too ! Just ask .
Dr . Michael Marsh , M . D .
Michael is a pediatrician who practices in Weatherford
PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? MM : We moved to Parker County in 2001 after serving in the armed forces for seven years . Please note , however , I ’ m Texan by birth .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ?
MM : It was a long time ago … deciding Christ was the real deal .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? MM : I ’ m still trying to figure that one out .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? MM : Making a positive difference in the life of someone else . It doesn ’ t happen every day , and it doesn ’ t have to be anything extraordinary , just something small to make their day a little better . Conversely , my biggest regrets usually revolve around missing an opportunity to have done this .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up till now ? MM : Boy , that ’ s a hard one . Advice comes to us in many ways , both spoken and unspoken . Watching my parents , Dale and Merlene Marsh , live their lives has been the best “ advice ” I have been given — generous , selfless , yet perfectly imperfect . Don ’ t know where I ’ d be now without their example .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ? MM : Rancher . I do a little of this on the side . The outdoors has always helped me keep things in perspective .
PCT : How did you get into your current job ? MM : Good question . Being an outdoors kind of person , how did I end up in a purely indoor job ? I believe God has a plan for each of us . It may be something completely different than what we anticipated or even wanted . Lots of prayer and following his lead placed me where I am today . There is no other way it would have happened , and I couldn ’ t be happier .
PCT : What do you want to be remembered for ? MM : That the sum total of my days on earth left it a little better than if I had never existed . The way I see it , that can only be done by reflecting a bit of our Creator ’ s light onto those around us … while we have the chance .
