On March 28 , 1999 , for Chris ’ s birthday they went to the Fort Worth Stockyards to go dancing with a group of friends . “ Sparks flew that night ,” he recalls . From that point on , Chris never left Stormy ’ s side . They were married two years later on Aug . 4 , 2001 , at the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie . Today they have four children , ages 17 , 14 , 13 and 8 . After all the years , Stormy still takes his breath away and he makes every effort to let her know exactly how important she is to him . “ She ’ s my rock ,” he said . “ I can ’ t imagine life without her . I ’ m thankful to her for being my best friend through all these years .”

Dannie and Nelda Bruce were high school sweethearts from Mexia , Texas and have known each other since she was in 8 th grade , and he was in high school . The couple lived about a block apart . Dannie played football and according to Nelda , “ He was just a really good lookin ’ kid that lived down the street from us .” They married in October of 1960 in a small wedding surrounded by family and friends in their hometown .
The couple dated throughout high school . Nelda said , “ We were just one of those couples in high school .” Dannie graduated a year before Nelda and he went off to a year of college and then joined the Navy . They waited four years to marry , until Dannie was a Navy reservist . However , it wasn ’ t always smooth sailing for the couple while they waited for him to finish his service . According to Nelda , “ We would break up and get back together . We talked about that we got all of our disagreements out before we married .”
Some of the hints they shared is to , “ Have humor , you have to look at that side of things . We still have date nights . We go to the movies , go out to eat or something . We still hold hands ,” Nelda said . Both agree that marriage is not the 50 / 50 proposition that many people think . Dannie said , “ Sometimes it may be 75 / 25 one way , other times it may 90 / 10 the other ways . Sometimes
