Janet is the chairwoman for the nonprofit group Sanctified Hope . Sanctified Hope helps women who are in prison and helps them transition from incarceration to the real world .
PCT : What is the best thing about your job ? JD : The best thing about my job is that I get to see God move in amazing ways and lives are changed .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ? JD : I would not want to do anything [ other ] than what I am doing right now — helping ex-offenders start over with Godly wisdom and counsel .
PCT : What do you want to be remembered for ? JD : I want to be remembered for the fact that I loved Jesus more than anything in life .

PCT : How long have you been in Parker County ? GW : I moved here from Palo Pinto County , Mineral Wells , in 1978 for a job opportunity .
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? GW : Cool , I guess , is really in the eye of the beholder . Playing music with my friends is what ’ s cool for me .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? GW : I ’ m really a student of people . I like to size up people and try to understand where they are at , where they ’ re coming from . I seem to call it right a lot of the time , but it ’ s probably biased , since it ’ s coming from me . ( chuckle )
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? GW : The best day ever would consist of being with family and friends . Just being there . That ’ s a good time .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up till now ? GW : The Golden Rule .
PCT : If you could have another career , what would it be and why ? GW : I ’ ve always wanted to be a musician , and I may be ; but as far as another career it would involve music . It ’ s been my lifelong fascination , for sure .

PCT : How long have you lived or worked in Parker County ? JD : I have lived in Parker County for 42 years and [ I ’ m ] loving it !
PCT : What ’ s the coolest thing that you have ever done in your life ? JD : I have done some pretty cool things in my life , like walking through a rain forest in Costa Rica and zipping across a waterfall in Honduras .
PCT : What ’ s your secret talent ? JD : My secret talent is that I decorated birthday cakes like the bakery for all four of my children growing up , for all of their birthdays .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? JD : My definition of the best day ever is spending time with my grandkids and or all my family on vacation .
PCT : What piece of advice has defined your life up till now ? JD : The piece of advice that has defined my life comes from the Bible , because I know that God works things out for the good for all those who love him . It has been so true of my life . When bad times come , I always know that something good will come of it .
